Back From Istanbul

I
came back from Istanbul on Sunday evening. We went for 4 days to celebrate my father’s birthday. Let me tell you – I’m in love. Istanbul is the most amazing, magical place – so rich in culture, history, inspiration. I had been there before a few times (after all it’s 500 km. away), but this time it just captured my heart.
We ate the most delicious food, I had a chance to practice the little Turkish I know (which I’m taking up again), I also wanted to buy almost everything I saw at the markets (but I didn’t, so we’re going there again)…I’m very bad with words, so I can’t really describe the atmosphere of this place, so if you haven’t been there already, you should.
Turkey has the highest consumption of tea per capita in the world (even higher that Great Britain) and for a tea fanatic as myself, this means one more reason to love this country. This is a glass of Turkish tea on the photo, with English buscuits that my brother brought from the UK.
Oh, and I also have my very own camera now - my husband’s old camera, so I guess I’ll be taking more that one photograph a month (as I used to do before).
